Logitrans Reel Rotator, Straddle Support Legs, 500kg

From Danish manufacturer Logitrans, the Reel Rotator lifts, turns and positions reels of different sizes, up to a max weight of 500kg. With straddle support legs, it can handle reels placed vertically (eye to the sky) or horizontally: either on the floor, on a pallet, or clear off the floor at height. Reels can be lifted from a vertical position and turned horizontally, and vice versa.

The Reel Rotator is perfect for reel handling in printing and packing applications, whenever rolls are loaded into machines. The Reel Rotator can pick up a vertical reel (eye to the sky)* from the floor or pallet, lift and turn it 90 degrees, then load it onto a printing or packaging machine - and vice versa.

Reel diameters from Ø120 mm to Ø1270 mm can be lifted and turned. The gripping arms are fitted with rubber pads to provide maximum hold, but a gentle grip: no damage to reels and very smooth reel surfaces can also be handled.

4 different Reel Rotator models are available, from fully manual (for light duty, occasional use) to fully powered (for medium-heavy duty use). On models with electric rotation, a touch screen digital controller is used to control the angle and speed of the required rotation.

Safety Features:

• None of the models can open the gripping arms by mistake
• The reels can only be released when placed on floor or pallet
• On models with electric rotation, it is only possible to rotate at lifting heights above 825 mm, so that the gripping arms cannot touch floor or legs

This Reel Rotator has straddle support legs. It can lift reels from almost any pallet type, including both open and closed pallets (with or without bottom runners). The straddle leg width is adjustable, so horizontal reels can be lifted from and lowered to the floor. For rolls that are packed on open pallets only (without bottom runners), a wrapover Reel Rotator is also available.

Customise your Reel Rotator: the reel turner can be built with special dimensions and features to lift and rotate other objects (eg pots, wheels).

* The Reel Rotator is designed to lift vertical reels (eye to the sky) to/from the floor or a pallet. It cannot lift horizontal reels to/from the floor, a pallet or any other platform, due to the location of the gripping arms when the reel is horizontal.
